We woke up REALLY early this morning to eat breakfast quickly and then get to Nate’s graduation.
Autumn and Andrew were SO EXCITED to push the elevator buttons and wear their backpacks that Papa got for them. Also Aunt Lisa got them matching patriotic shirts! THANK YOU GUYS!!!
Uncle Nick rode with us to Lackland Air Force Base and Andrew was so excited to have him in the backseat with him. We passed the time away by dancing and singing to fun music.
While we were walking to the parade field on Lackland Air Force Base for Nate’s graduation the kids were so cute that were holding each other’s hand.
This was a bridge we had to go over and we thought it was cool how it said, “Welcome to Lackland Air Force Base Gateway to the Air Force.”
We decided to take a picture with it but I don’t know what Nick and I are doing. Maybe we were praying for the Service Men…yeah that was it we were just praying!
When we got closer to the parade field there were a LOT of planes around and Andrew and Autumn were so excited about it, especially Andrew!
Since we got there early to get good seats Aunt Lisa & Jon took the kids on a walk to see all the different planes and things. As you can see from these pictures the kids LOVED it!! Thanks Aunt Lisa & Hun!!!
The kids were running around crazy and wouldn’t stand still so Aunt Lisa could take a picture so she told them to stand at attention so that is what Andrew is doing. Lisa also said he was saluting people when they came by. FUNNY BOY!!!
I have always LOVED that my dad was part of the military and is so patriotic but today when they played the anthem and we sang along quietly and reverently tears just spilled down my cheeks. I am so thankful to live in this country and have the great freedoms we do. THANK YOU TO OUR SOLIDERS, especially Dad & now Nate!!!
When the airmen were marching around a group in front of us were waving flags and offered to let the kids wave it too. Autumn didn’t really want to but Andrew waved it proudly almost hitting dad in the face.
During the graduation Andrew got really bored so daddy played Woody and Buzz with him. SO CUTE!!! Jon really is a WONDERFUL dad and I am just so grateful for how WONDERFUL he is to Andrew and I!!!
The sun was really bright so Andrew put on Jon’s sunglasses and hat. CUTE BOY!!!
Nick was so cute and shielded Autumn from the sun like Dad had been doing too with his hat. She sure is LOVED!!!
Here are the airmen being sworn in and taking the oath. I love the motto of the Air Force, “ Integrity above all else, Excellence in all you do, & Service before self.” WOW, how amazing this world would be if we all lived that way!!!
Andrew was SO excited to see Uncle Nate so he ran to give him a hug but Uncle Nate was so cute and scooped Andrew up in his arms.
Nate asked Dad to wear his dress blues and even though Dad was WAY hot in his uniform it was so heart warming and special to see Nate and Dad in their uniforms.
I love these next couple pictures b/c it is just an everyday moment but it is an everyday moment that I will remember for the rest of my life.
I also LOVE how Autumn is looking up at Uncle Nate with such adoration and love.
So tender!!!
It was so sweet to see how much Nate had matured and really had taken upon himself the Air Force and all that it requires.
Growing up Nate really didn’t like to follow rules but he totally followed the Air Force rules to a tee and even walked out of his way so we could use a cross walk b/c that is one of the rules. WOW!!!
The whole family is SO proud of Nate but I think Mom & Dad are the proudest!
Our two military men!!!
After graduation Nate showed us his barracks! I love how Aunt Lisa was trying to just get a picture of the military men but Andrew jumped in there anyways…maybe is a future military man!
On Nate’s pillow was a little note and a pin for him to thank his parents for everything so he pinned it on mom.
We asked Nate if we could get a picture of him with his military trainers (MTIs) but he didn’t want to get in trouble for asking so of course Lisa asked and luckily they were cool with it. I also thought it was cool how whenever we would pass a person in uniform that was a lower rank than Dad they would salute him and he would salute back.
The best part was when we were leaving the barracks and all of the sudden this guy yells “ATTENTION.” I even stood at attention and Lisa did too. We had no clue what had happened so when we got outside I asked Dad what was going on and he said the guy had yelled attention b/c he was leaving the building. WOW that much respect for my Dad. We couldn’t get over how cool that was and just kept laughing about it. Nate thought it was AWESOME and I am sure is going to brag about it later on.
While we were walking back to the car Autumn was tired so of course her FAVORITE Aunt Lexie had to carry her that rest of the way. I sure do LOVE that girl!!!
As soon as we got to the car Dad took his uniform off so Nick wanted to try it on. I thought it was funny how Nick is standing at attention but has shorts and his sandals on.
Then Lisa had to try the hat on…not bad Lisa!!!
Mom, Dad & Nate had to stay for a family meeting so the rest of us went to Chipotle for lunch. YUMMY!!! Nick was being funny!
We came back to the hotel room and the kids played while the adults rested and just relaxed. BUT then Nate walked in and of course Lisa busted out her laptop and we had to play him all the new cool songs that had come out. I love his face here like he is too scared to touch the laptop. That didn’t last for long though and we just had A LOT of fun listening to music and just being together.
Nate got us these shirts that had his squadron number and also Wolf Pack b/c that is what their squadron was called. I LOVED my shirt. THANKS NATE!!!
While we were in hanging out with Nate the kids decided to entertain themselves in the bedroom. I couldn’t believe how Andrew was just launching himself from bed to bed. CRAZY BOY!!!
Then we got out Nate’s good cologne and he was a little more like himself. He just kept on smelling himself and saying how good it was to smell good again. It’s funny what you appreciate when you haven’t been able to have it for 8 weeks.
Dad got these Longhorn swim shorts for Jon but really thought the best part was that the pocket had a bottle opener attached inside it. FUNNY!!!
I thought I had found the cutest swimsuit that nobody else would have at Wal-Mart…boy was I WRONG!!! Lisa and I got a kick out of this!
I think Lisa will always win that competition. LOL!!! It was so nice to just hang out with Lisa. I LOVE having her as my SISTER & we just have so much fun together!
We had some time to kill before the baseball game that Nate had been approved of to go to so we decided to go swimming since Nate hadn’t been for 8 weeks.
Andrew had so much fun jumping off the side of the pool to Jon.
Of course Lisa, Nick & Nate had to do their synchronized swimming too!
The pool water was really cold so we all jumped in the hot tub and just relaxed and visited or at least tried too with the kids jumping around everywhere.
Then we got cleaned up to go out to dinner and the baseball game. When I saw the shirt that Autumn was wearing I ran and got my LOVE shirt on too so we could be the LOVE GIRLS!!! I really do LOVE my Autumn!
Uh oh Andrew really might be a future airman!!! CUTE!!!
Lisa took this picture of the kids b/c they were in the car with her and fell asleep on the 10 minute drive to Rudy’s for dinner. FUNNY!!!
Autumn still didn’t want to wake up so she just slept while the boys were ordering the barbeque food. SO SWEET!!!
Everyone LOVED the food and really enjoyed being together too.
At the baseball game Nate hung out with some of his buddies and Lisa told them to take a serious picture and then take a fun picture. I love Nate’s face in the fun picture.
Unfortunately we didn’t stay that long at the baseball game b/c the kids had just had it and were tired & cranky so we left Nate & Dad at the game and the rest of us went back to the hotel to get ready for bed!
I AM SO PROUD OF YOU NATE!!!
