Therapy, Confrontation, Costco & Sam’s, Playing Ball(Monday: Aug. 30, 2010)

Today at therapy Gran Ruth got a great surprise, she ran into her room mate during her recovery “Sunny” & her husband. Gran Ruth had told me how up beat and happy Sunny was but to be in her presence was amazing. She really always had a smile on her face and never said one negative thing. I was only around this woman 10 minutes but I defiantly want to be like Sunny!

Then Gran Ruth got another surprise…her in patient therapist, Tyler was there too. So of course I had to get a picture of Gran Ruth with the two men that literally helped her get back on her feet after her surgery. THANK YOU ALLEN & TYLER!!!

Well, I am ashamed to say that after therapy I didn’t act like Sunny and got pretty upset at Gran Ruth when she said, “You don’t love me” b/c I was trying to get her to go get the change at the gas station. Those words just really hurt me and so I got angry and told her everything I had been wanting to say that whole first week. I wish I wouldn’t have yelled but I do think she needed to hear what I had to say b/c afterwards she was just so much kinder and more appreciative and less critical of me trying to help her.

Don’t worry we did make up and she forgave me for yelling. Afterwards we headed to Costco to get Gran Ruth her protein mix but they didn’t have it but we still got Andrew his smoothie and ate some lunch there.

Then we headed to Sam’s Club to see if they had the right protein mix that Gran Ruth wanted…luckily they did. YEAH!!!

When we got home Gran Ruth pulled out the pig again and of course Andrew LOVED it!

Then we needed to get some energy out so we went outside to play ball. Andrew really did have a BALL playing BALL!! =)

I was getting tired though (I was just emotionally drained from the confrontation with Gran Ruth earlier today) so I laid down in the grass and just stared up at the beautiful blue sky and gorgeous clouds while Andrew just played by himself for a little while.

All of the sudden my nice relaxing time was interrupted by a ball being thrown in my face. SILLY BOY!!!

Then the game became to throw the ball at mommy and see how patient she could be…well too bad for Andrew I had already spent my patience so we headed inside soon after that.

So even though today was a VERY HARD day I also realized how much I love my Gran Ruth and how much she really does LOVE me. Also I realized how many people love and support me too.

Also I came to another SCARY realization…my dad will be so much worse when he is old and can’t drive or function the way he use to be able to. That is why I live 3 1/2 hrs. away…good luck Lisa!!! =)
